THE SHOPS OF MIDTOWN

Eric + Lauren's neighborhood.  A great place to pick up local Detroit goods, also home to five local beer spots and a dozen restaurants.

THE DEQUINDRE CUT

Walking, running, biking path that connects the Riverwalk to Eastern Market and Midtown. Lauren and Eric spent many hours on "the cut" while they trained for the Detroit marathon.  

DETROIT INSTITUTE OF ARTS

World famous art museum. The DIA is a beautiful building with an impressive art collection located in Midtown.

EASTERN MARKET

The largest farmers market in the country (yes, even bigger than Pike Place). Saturday morning only. Lauren and Eric love Eastern Market and shop there every week. 

MOTOWN MUSEUM- HITSVILLE, USA

Not just for Motown enthusiasts. People of all ages will love this spot. Plus they have Michael Jackson's rhinestone glove! (Todd + Abbey, i'm lookin' at you)

DETROIT RIVERWALK & RENAISSANCE CENTER (GM HEADQUARTERS)

Check out the latest GM cars at GM's world headquarters. The riverwalk is great for walking, lounging or bike riding (rental bikes available).

Located in the heart of downtown, Campus Martius is a great park for lounging and beach bar is ideal for a casual drink and digging your toes in the sand. 

COMERICA PARK

Catch a Tigers game! Tigers play Tampa Bay at 7pm Friday, 4pm Saturday, and 1pm Sunday. Insider tip: you can watch for free from the centerfield fence.

BELLE ISLE

Detroit's "Central Park" (same designer).  Located a short drive (or bike ride)  from downtown on an island between the US and Canada.

DETROIT CASINOS (MGM/GREEKTOWN/MOTOR CITY)

If you like gambling, Detroit offers 3 casinos within walking distance of downtown. And, if you have your passport, there is a 4th just across the river in Canada!
